With reference to my letters No. 4 dated the 9th. January and the 12th. February, on the subject of the inclusion, in the stateamt of Assets and Liabilities, of the securities deposited by the local banks with the Crown Agents, as security to the Goverment, I have the homur to inform you that I am directed to bring to your netics Colonial Regulation No. 344, which pro- -vides for the maintenance, in the principal ledger of the Colony, of a separate account of each of the various funds in the custody of the Government and, consequently, for the inclusion in the

Statement of Assets and Liabilities of the full balmces of all

such accounts, whether invested or not, excepting only those relat

-ing to funded debt and sinking funds.

24 I beg to request, therefore, that you will kindly give directions with a view to the adoption, in future, of the

procedure which appears to be indicated in the Colonial Regula-

-tions, and which is in force, I am informed, elsewhere,
